SESSION TIPS

Enhance your Portrait Investment

Pleasing portraiture requires commitment of adequate time to planning and creation. Good portraiture display in your home must be planned—it rarely happens accidentally.

Clothing Consultation

We strongly recommend an appointment session to discuss the type of clothing to be worn for your portrait. Dress can be formal, casual or very casual, but the most effective portraits are the products of careful clothing consideration. You may also wish to consider the decor of the room where the portrait will hang.

Adequate and Proper Session Time

Plan at least an hour for your portrait session—some require more. Make sure you, and all involved in the portrait, are well rested and the session is being held at your best time of day. Most people do not look their best in the late evening, and children rarely cooperate well,. Don't delay or skip a meal. Outdoor portraiture is most effective when created in the early morning or early evening when the light is soft—midday (10 am until 4 pm during summer) is to be avoided.

Portrait Preview Session

We strongly recommend scheduling a preview session in advance. Since the matter of display should not be left to chance, all decision-makers need to be present. Take advantage of the opportunity to see your portrait projected in appropriate sizes, discuss frames that will complement your home’s decor, and plan to display a portrait of which you can be justly proud for many years to come.
